Carries Your newborn from day one

Self-Adapting Fabric

Carry what matters most from day one. Smart stretch fabric allows the baby carrier's back panel to intuitively adapt to your child's body shape and size as they grow. It'll keep them comfortable without any need to adjust.

Create a close bond

Kangaroo Pocket

Build your relationship from the very start. The kangaroo pocket lets you slip a hand into the baby carrier to help you and your baby forge an even closer bond. Made with soft, breathable mesh fabric, it's as comforting as a caress.

Quick and intuitive saftey

Magnetic Click & Go Buckle

The beauty is in the simplicity of the magnetic buckles that adorn the Laya carrier. They are cleverly designed to make life easier when putting a baby in or taking them out of the carrier. They slide smoothly into place, but a safety button must be pressed before they can be released – helping keep your little one safe and secure.

Keep valuables close at hand

Detachable Coin Purse

This sleek and stylish coin purse can be unclipped for convenience or attached to the baby carrier for extra piece of mind.

Ergonomic Support

Hips in healthy M position and C-shaped back support.

Ergonomically support your baby and their hup health at the same time. Padding around their knees combined with the elastic fabric of the back panel produces a natural M shape. The supportive back panel promotes a curved C shape for your baby's spine.

Breathable 3D Mesh Fabric

Leg Loops

Lumbar Support

Soft, self-adapting stretch fabric lets the CYBEX Laya wrap gently around your baby, while a kangaroo pocket keeps them close from day one. Because the fabric adapts on its own, it adjusts naturally as your baby grows and supports them from 3.2 kg up to 15 kg.

This pocket lets you hold your baby snugly against you, creating quiet moments of connection. Breathable mesh also keeps you both comfortable and cool, even on warm Australian days. When it is time to head out, magnetic buckles snap easily and securely into place.

A detachable coin purse keeps small essentials like keys and cards within reach. That way, you can go for a walk or grab a coffee without carrying an extra bag.

Soft, supportive and simple to use, the Laya is made for the everyday closeness of early parenthood. Choose the CYBEX Laya and hold your baby close from day one.

What are the possible carry positions and when should I use them?

Begin that special connection with your baby with the (newborn) front inward carry position from birth until 3 years. Designed to give maximum support to their neck, the front inward carry position keeps your baby closest of all. Specially developed to allow the neck support to be rolled inside to let them cuddle in to feel safe and protected from Day 1.

Once they are around 6 months old and can hold their head upright, the front outward carry position is perfect for around 20 minutes at a time to let them see the world face on. The back inward carry position has been the go-to position for centuries and can be used from 6 months to give your child a view over your shoulder.

Why is it important to secure the waist belt buckle with the elastic loop?

If the buckle buttons were accidentally pressed, this elastic loop ensures the waist belt stays secure and keeps your child safe.

Can I breastfeed with my baby in the LAYA Carrier?

Yes, it is possible and recommended. Once seated, loosen the shoulder straps to allow the baby access. Please remember to position your baby correctly again afterwards.

How do I make sure the weight distribution is best for the caregiver?

Your baby’s head should be close enough to kiss without needing to stoop, with their hips in the hip-friendly M position and their spine in the C shape. More information about body positions and shapes can be found in our user guide. Specially designed padding helps redistribute the weight away from your neck, shoulders and back. A well-padded waist belt perfectly supports your back and provides optimal lumbar support.

How do the Magnetic Click-&-Go Buckles work?

Designed to keep your baby safe but still allow for smooth access for caregivers, you simply need to push the safety button and slide them up. Slightly raising your baby’s bottom as you do this will make the whole process easier.

How does the Laya Carrier ergonomically support my baby?

Your Laya Carrier’s back panel stretches to support your baby’s spine by imitating its natural, curved C shape. It keeps your baby in a hip-healthy M position, keeping their knees up above their bottom and level with their hips. When using the front outward carry position, your baby’s knees should be at a 90° to ensure they are in the optimum ergonomic position.

How does the sternum strap benefit me?

The sternum strap is used to improve the integrity of the structure and helps to distribute the weight away from your shoulders when the shoulder straps are parallel. If the weight distribution does not feel comfortable for you, try to tighten the sternum strap a little bit more.

How long is the warranty for Cybex Carriers?

In Australia, Cybex Carriers come with a 4 year warranty.

How safe are the materials used in my Laya Carrier?

The safety of your children is at the front of everything we do, and all materials used in CYBEX products undergo stringent testing and all meet the highest standards.

How should the shoulder straps be worn?

To keep your baby safe and every journey as comfortable as possible for both the baby and the caregiver, the shoulder straps should always be kept parallel to each other.

Is the Laya Carrier designed for all body types?

Your comfort is paramount and the LAYA Carrier has been designed to ensure this. Having your baby in the correct position to provide the best weight distribution is the first step. The waist belt and the shoulder straps can be tightened or loosened from the front or back as you walk to give more support when you need it.

Is the carrier machine washable?

Yes, your LAYA Carrier is machine washable at 30°C. Before putting the carrier in the washing machine, please take off the coin purse.

Once I have adjusted carrier straps, how can I store the loose ends?

One of the best features of the Laya Carrier is your ability to customize it to suit everyone, no matter their bulk. Once you have adjusted the shoulder and sternum straps plus the waist belt, you can safely secure the leftover strap using the elastic band helpfully placed at the end of each strap.

What is the advantage of the leg loops?

By reducing the circumference of the leg openings, the leg loops provide support for smaller babies. Once they are too tight for your baby, you should then stop using them.

When and for how long can I carry my baby in the front outward carry position?

Once your baby can hold their head up independently and become more curious of their surroundings, usually between 4 and 6 months old, they can be carried in the front outward carry position. Please remember that they should only stay in this position for around 20 minutes.

When can I start putting the baby in the Laya Carrier?

Once your baby grows to 50 cm and weighs 3.2 kg, you can begin your adventures with the LAYA Carrier. If you can see half their ear, then they are at the right height but ensure they are in the hip-healthy M position with their spine supported in the curved C shape while positioning your baby’s bottom correctly in the carrier.

Why do I never have to adapt the back panel’s width?

After ensuring your baby’s bottom is pushed completely inside the carrier, elasticated fabric contracts and stretches automatically to give a snug fit from birth until they are 3 years old.
